IENA Board Biographies

Francesca Castillo, RN

Fran served as a Director-at-Large for IENA; she is currently Vice-President.

Over Fran's 38-year nursing career, she has worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Eastern State Hospital, Rockwood Manor South, and is currently at St. Luke’s Rehab Institute in Spokane serving as the Local Unit Chair. Her other duties at St. Luke’s include the Safe Staffing Committee, Cultural Diversity Committee, and Negotiating Team. Fran enjoys volunteering in the community, including Bloomsday and the Stroke Awareness Walk. She also participates in WSNA’s Annual Nurse Legislative Day. With so many years of experience in a variety of settings, Fran has become a diverse and knowledgeable nurse, and is a strong advocate for the nursing profession.


Fran has served as Director at Large with the Inland Empire Nurses Association and is currently serving as Vice-President. She believes it is important to contribute to the local nursing community. Fran also serves on the state level as a member of the Cabinet of Economic Welfare.
